WebDec 8, 2024 · Parasitoid like Chelonus blackburni Cameron (Braconidae: Hymenoptera) is one of the dominant and bodily stoutly exotic parasitoids accepting parasitization in few lepidopteran pests. It is an egg-larval, uniparental, and endoparasitoid introduced from Hawaii, USA, which has fairly wide host range for Lepidoptera (Raj et al. 1999 ). The egg–larval parasitoid Chelonus blackburni (Cameron) ( Figure 2) attacks the egg stage and completes development in the larval stage of the host. It parasitizes the pink bollworm in Hawaii, North America, and Egypt and all three bollworms, Earias spp., H. armigera, and Pectinophora gossypiella (Saunders) in India.
