WebSec. 151.309. GOVERNMENTAL ENTITIES. A taxable item sold, leased, or rented to, or stored, used, or consumed by, any of the following governmental entities is exempted from the taxes imposed by this chapter: (1) the United States; (2) an unincorporated instrumentality of the United States; Web(5) A service provider may accept a properly completed exemption certificate in lieu of tax for both materials and labor charges from an entity that is exempt under Tax Code, §151.309 or §151.310 (a) (3), (4), or (5), or that is exempt under Texas Civil Statutes.
